SurveyMonkey | Online Survey Tool

SurveyMonkey is one of the most popular online poll tools for a good reason.

With a large library of ready-made survey forms and a number of helpful tools, the site makes it easy to make surveys.

The worst thing about SurveyMonkey is that its yearly plan is expensive and has few features.

Is this the best poll tool for what you want to do? Let’s look at SurveyMonkey more closely and see what we can find out.

Even though the Advantage plan costs $32 per month and is paid for once a year, the name “SurveyMonkey” has become almost a term for online surveys in many people’s minds.

This is due in part to the company’s early efforts to make poll design more open to everyone, which it has kept building on.

It bought Fluid Surveys, a company with advanced features whose product, also called Fluid Surveys, did well in our past review of online survey tools.

Even so, SurveyMonkey has stuck to its goal of being easy to use.

In fact, when you sign up for an account, the website asks you a number of optional questions to customize the help it gives you.

This is the first sign that the product will hold your hand.

Use cases include things like customer satisfaction polls, staff surveys, event signups, feedback forms, and market research.

After that, there is a five-step process that has become the norm for poll apps.

This includes everything from coming up with an idea to testing, deploying, and analyzing the app.

With 14 pre-set question types, SurveyMonkey has thought of everything.

AI-based question sorting seems like a good addition to its user interface (UI), which is usually made up of wizards.

SurveyMonkey has a pop-up choice with about 30 answers already filled in.

This makes it easier to choose an answer.

But you need a paid tier membership to access some of these “certified templates” and change questions from templates to use in your own surveys.

SurveyMonkey Description

In addition to its easy-to-use tools for making and analyzing surveys, SurveyMonkey has a large “question bank” full of survey questions taken from past surveys and their questionnaires.

These help new poll designers who might have trouble coming up with questions and answers.

Few people, on the other hand, will need a templated question for an easy question like “Are you under 18?” where the only possible answers are “Yes” or “No.”

When a result is saved, the other two tabs show up. Randomizing the answers is a best practice in poll design, and “Options” does just that. Randomization for rating questions is available in SurveyGizmo for $25, but I could only find it in SurveyMonkey‘s “Flip Answers” option.

This works well for questions that ask people to rank their interest in a set of options from least to most important.

It reduces the primacy effect, which is the tendency for people to remember the first few things in a list, when they make their choices.

Like the rest of SurveyMonkey, the Answer Reporting screen is full of simple choices.

These include a thorough report on data trends that is similar to the one in Zoho Survey but costs more ($40 per month for the Premium Plan, billed monthly at eSurveysPro).

This information is easy to find on the screen where you sign in to SoGoSurvey.

You can see how people who answered one question also answered another question without using crosstabs with the “Filter by Question” tool.

Certain words in free-form answers can also be taken out of the mix.

All of the charts in the poll can be the same type or a different type with the click of a button.

Other programs may make it hard to change things like the number of decimal places, but SurveyMonkey makes it easy.

Users of the free version of SurveyMonkey can send surveys with up to ten questions to up to 100 people.

This increases the site’s fame.

You can use free “collectors” and mobile apps to find out how your survey is going. “Collectors” are a way to divide responders into manageable groups that will help with processing later.

Since some systems, like Outside Software’s eSurveysPro, don’t even let collectors join, SurveyPlanet’s free tier is a very generous offer.

On the other hand, SurveyPlanet’s Pro Plan costs $180 per year and is paid for every year.

It’s the “best deal.” Basic piping (using responses to customize future survey questions) or “carry-forward response” (known as “masking” in some other packages) lets selected answers be used in a future question to further refine responses.

These features are part of the Advantage plan, which costs $32 per month or $384 per year.

Unfortunately, you have to pay $99/month or $1,188/year for the Premier plan to use all of the logic features.

Other features at that level, like better sampling of blocks and support for many languages, are more like niche options.

SurveyMonkey Review By Online Product Report

SurveyMonkey is the best way to send short surveys to a small group of people or, if you pay for the paid plan, to a much larger group of people.

Because SurveyMonkey is so famous, more survey-related software is likely to be encouraged to work with it.

Its mid-tier subscription gives you a decent number of tools for the money, but power users who need to make complex polls should look elsewhere.
