Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote | Includes TV and app controls | HD streaming device
Even in 2023, the Amazon Fire TV Stick will still be a good and inexpensive way to stream on an HDTV.
Even though it doesn’t have 4K like its newer siblings, this streaming stick has an exemplary user interface and works with many apps.
High Dynamic Range (HDR) and a frame rate of 60 frames per second will make images smoother and more detailed if your TV can handle it.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick doesn’t have a native 4K resolution. If you want 4K, buy the Fire TV Stick 4K.
This is a great way to upgrade if you already have an HD TV but don’t want to spend as much as you would on an Ultra HD TV.
Amazon’s new entry-level Fire TV Stick, the Fire TV Stick Lite, makes it harder to determine which Fire TV Stick is best for your needs.
The main differences between the Lite and the model we’re talking about here are that the latter’s remote has volume controls and a mute button, and it can connect and control more audio/video devices.
Your streaming stick and sound bar will work better with a home theatre system with more than just a TV and a streamer.
People often forget about volume controls, but they are essential.
The remote for the Lite model is hard to use, and we have to juggle it with a TV remote to change the volume.
Voice navigation on the Fire TV platform and constant updates make the interface easier to use and a lot more fun to use the Fire TV Stick.
Less forgivable is when there is too much Amazon-owned or Amazon-related content, like ads for Audible subscriptions on every menu. If you are a Prime member, this won’t stop you from buying from Amazon.

Fire TV Stick Product Description
Now, you can buy Amazon’s Fire TV Stick. It costs $39.99 in the US and the UK, the same price as the first Fire TV Stick, and £39.99 in the UK, the same price as the first Fire TV Stick. In Australia, it costs AU$79. (the original Fire TV Stick).
The accessories are all put together in an excellent way inside the box. The package comes with the streaming device Fire TV Stick (2020) and a short extension cable that can be bent. The latter is meant to make it easier to put the stick behind a TV without much room.
In addition to the streamer and charger, you will also get two Amazon Basics AAA batteries for the Alexa voice remote. (via micro USB).
The streaming stick is a black slab about the size of a small candy bar that connects to a TV via HDMI 2.0.
It looks much like the Fire TV Stick Lite and Fire TV Stick 4K, so it’s hard to tell them apart if you have more than one in your hands simultaneously, like we did while writing this review. The Amazon logo is small and doesn’t stand out, and the sleek black design and curved remote make the product look more expensive than it is.
The main thing that makes them different is not the streamer but the remote control.
Alexa voice remotes come with every Fire TV product. All of them can be controlled by voice commands like “return,” “home,” “menu,” “power,” and “navigation.” (with a d-pad disguised as an omnidirectional circle). The Fire TV Stick (2020) now has volume up/down and mute buttons that can be used to change the book or turn it off.
So, what’s the deal with Amazon’s Fire TV Stick this year? The Fire TV Stick 4K, the Fire TV Cube, and this latest version all come with the same Alexa Voice Remote, a clicker that controls playback, power, volume, voice commands, and connected AV receivers and soundbars.
Even though it just came out, the new HD Fire TV Stick is better than its predecessor. (in 2019).
With high dynamic range (HDR), HD images will have more subtle tones and a more comprehensive range of light and dark tones. The rival Dolby Vision format is not included, but the dynamic HDR effects of HDR10+ are. This is because HDR10+ uses metadata to calibrate the picture settings for each shot.
It’s also important to remember that HDR won’t be as impressive without 4K resolution because there won’t be as many pixels on the screen. On the other hand, how well your 4K TV can upscale the video signal to show it in 4K will depend on how much processing power it has.
The Fire TV Stick (2020) has the same Fire TV interface as other Fire TV streamers and smart TVs that Fire TV powers.
Your Recent Apps, Your Apps & Channels, and Prime Originals & Exclusives are just a few of the horizontal content rows you can choose from.
This platform has streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney Plus, YouTube, and many more.
Amazon doesn’t go out of its way to hide its primary competitors on Prime Video but puts its content first. Amazon Prime Video content takes up a big part of the Fire TV interface. This includes content from Amazon Prime Video and affiliated TV channels like StarzPlay.
It can be inconvenient if you click on an interesting title but aren’t told that you need a subscription to see the content. (Once you’ve chosen a movie or TV show, there’s no “cancel” button on the screen. Instead, you have to use the back button on the voice remote, which isn’t apparent.)
If you already have a Prime membership, you’ll get the most out of the interface and suggestions, but other streaming services, like Roku, are less likely to try to steer you towards a specific purchase.
You need permission from the Amazon account linked to the device for Prime Video apps to sign in. This is annoying until Amazon adds user profiles later in 2020, especially if you and your roommates share a lot of streaming subscriptions. (like I do).
Recent updates to the Alexa integration have brought about these changes. The user interface now resembles Amazon’s Echo Show intelligent display range. Soon, the Fire TV interface will have a “picture-in-picture” mode that will let you load multiple apps at once, like an intelligent security camera feed.
Fire TV Stick Review By Online Product Report
The Amazon Fire TV Stick is still the most major refresh of the standard Fire TV streaming stick, adding many new improvements such as HDR, a 60fps frame rate, and compatibility with Dolby Atmos audio.
There’s now a cheaper iteration in the Fire TV Stick Lite, but you’ll want this step-up model for a remote with fully-fledged volume and AV controls.
